Executive Editor

Scholastic is currently seeking a: Executive Editor for the Scholastic Education Division. Scholastic Education is developing a new Middle School Math Intervention program and is seeking an Executive Editor to oversee and coordinate the program’s editorial activities. The Executive Editor reports to the Senior Editorial Director. Key Responsibilities: - Manage daily and weekly tasks of editorial team on assigned project - Train editorial and author teams on writing guidelines, tools, and development plans - Oversee mathematical accuracy and adherence to program objectives in product development - Collaborate with Producers and Engineers to optimize and customize authoring system, content management system, and asset management - Work within schedule and budget for editorial deliverables - Develop style guides to provide consistency among internal and external editors and writers - Work with assessment editor to develop appropriate assessment content and reports Requirements/ Skills: - Bachelors degree in mathematics or mathematics education (Master's degree preferred) - At least 7 years editorial experience in educational publishing - mathematics teaching experience a plus - 3 years supervisory experience - Experience with Digital Publishing or software development desirable - Ability to proactively and creatively solve problems related to program development - Direct experience with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and supervising staff & vendors - Excellent organizational and communication skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
