Description:Job Duties:a) The ideal candidate will be smart, versatile, and comfortable in a fluid role. b) Assist Editorial Director with a variety of editorial tasks, including reading submissions. Perform some copy editing and proofreading. Work directly with authors, translators and indexers. Register copyrights for new books and obtain Library of Congress CIP data. c) Prepare flap copy and marketing copy for catalogs and sell sheets. d) Create a publicity plan for each season. Prepare creative pitches for print, television and radio. Write press releases, create publicity packets, and respond to daily publicity requests. e) Assist in or initiate web-based marketing campaigns for selected titles. f) Prepare materials for semi-annual sales conferences. Handle special sales and marketing projects. Job Qualifications: a) BA required. b) A strong record of academic success from a top-tier college or university is preferred. c) Initiative, attention to detail, excellent grammar a must. d) Candidate must be extremely well organized. e) Foreign languages a plus. f) A strong interest in marketing and publicity is essential g) Good computer skills, including Excel, Quark and Word, and familiarity with internet marketing. h) Previous experience is not required. » Please quote Get Editing Jobs when applying
