Description:United Hospital Fund, a high-profile, non-profit health services research and philanthropic organization seeks a superb, experienced editor to be part of our communications team, producing critical information, both print and Web-based, for health care change-makers.The Editor is responsible for developmental and copy editing, and project management of health policy and health care-related reports and other projects. The Editor helps shape projects from inception through dissemination, working with the organization?s director of publications, director of public information, authors, and stakeholders within and outside the organization, along with design and print vendors. The position requires: excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills; knowledge of and interest in health policy a strong plus; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work both independently and as part of a broad team; attention to nuance and detail are essential; well honed production skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and, preferably, Quark); experience with editing for the Internet preferred; Bachelor?s degree required (Master?s in a related field preferred) plus a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience.
