Description:The Editor is responsible for managing publication releases as assigned by the Editorial Manager or Practice Area Director. The Editor may also assist the Practice Area Editors by providing the legal research and editorial assistance necessary to ensure that the contents of our manuscripts are legally accurate and properly formatted in conformity with publication style. Accountabilities include: Reviewing manuscript for accuracy of citations and cross-references; Editing manuscript for format, grammar, and spelling; Setting up manuscript for composition, including coding and SGML tagging; Maintaining upkeep of primary source materials using electronic databases and other library materials; Writing publication updates; Locating and updating references to law reviews and periodicals for research guides.Qualifications: College degree or equivalent, or completion of a paralegal program at a college that included training in legal research, or another formal paralegal program that included training in legal research. Preference for individual with legal background or attending law school. Prior experience in professional publishing or the publishing industry preferred. Good communication skills.
